Julio Felix (b. 1985) is an American painter and philosopher. Felix was born in California, grew up in Sonora, studied in Texas, and now lives in New York. Felix received B.S. and M.A. degrees from The University of Texas (2009) and New York University (2013).
One of the most prominent emerging artists working today, Felix has mounted and curated numerous exhibitions, including The Frivolous Now at Alon Zakaim Fine Art, London and Scent at Simon Dickinson, New York. Felix had his first solo exhibition America in 2016 at Simon Dickinson, New York.
Felix is best known for his bold experimentation with technique, constantly changing in mode of expression, combining science with painting, and marrying medieval traditions with those of contemporary art. Felix's current studio occupies a basement in the Chinatown section of Manhattan.
